3. O ato de boa tarde ao ex-presidente Lula desta sexta-feira foi conduzido por Marcelo Pontes, militante do Movimento dos Trabalhadores Sem Terra (MST). Ele destacou a importância da Vigília Lula Livre para denunciar a prisão injusta e arbitrária do ex-presidente bem como para defender a democracia. “Para nós, a democracia é bem-estar, ao contrário de um regime baseado na repressão”, disse.

2. The political situation in Brazil and the threats that are underway to democracy were debated in a conversation circle this afternoon in the Lula Livre Vigil. Professor Jaqueline Gomes de Jesus said that the union of democrats will defeat the specter of fascism which is haunting Brazilian society. De Jesus, who is a psychology professor at the Federal Education Institute in Belford Roxo, Rio de Janeiro, emphasized the importance of freeing former President Lula, who has been held as a political prisoner for 196 days.
