The High Court of Justice in Brazil has rejected Lulas appeal against his conviction, based on allegedly corruption, and has issued a warrant for Lula’s arrest. DIE LINKE considers this to be political judgement, which has been forced by the political right and reactionary forces. Justice in Brazil has been politically exploited for a long time.
Actual goal behind all this is to hinder Lula’s promising candidacy for the upcoming pesidencial elections. DIE LINKE supports all national and international efforts to reject the judgment and is demanding freedom for Lula. DIE LINKE states its solidarity with all progressive forces in Brazil who stand for democracy and fight for social improvements.
