Boletim 101 – Comitê em Defesa de Lula e da Democracia

1 – O embaixador da ONU para os direitos humanos e questões raciais, o ator norte-americano Danny Glover, participou do “Boa Noite” ao ex-presidente Lula e encantou os militantes que estão na Vigília Democrática #LulaLivre com sua energia e disposição para apoiar a democracia no Brasil. Conforme ele mesmo disse, “o mundo acompanha o que está sendo feito no Brasil e sabe que, para a grande maioria do povo, não existe plano B, plano C ou plano X: só o que existe é o PLANO LULA”. O ator é um amigo de longa data do ex-presidente. Glover esteve nesta semana no Rio de Janeiro, onde visitou a família de Marielle Franco, vereadora assassinada no dia 14 de março.

2 – Poucas horas antes, durante o “Boa Tarde” ao ex-presidente, quem visitou a Vigília #LulaLivre foi o deputado federal Henrique Fontana (PT-RS). Em discurso emocionado à militância feito nos arredores da Polícia Federal em Curitiba, onde Lula está detido como prisioneiro político, o parlamentar lembrou que há mais de 50 dias as pessoas não arredam o pé de perto do ex-presidente, fato sem precedentes no País: “O que está sendo feito aqui é nada menos do que história. Esta vigília jamais será esquecida como uma luta corajosa em defesa da democracia brasileira”.

3 – A Comissão Executiva Nacional do PT divulgou hoje que o lançamento nacional da pré-candidatura de Lula à Presidência será realizado no dia 8 de junho, em Contagem (MG). Para o evento, estão sendo convocados todos os diretórios estaduais e municipais do PT, a militância, movimentos sociais artistas, intelectuais, religiosos e representantes de entidades diversas que lutam contra o golpe de 2016 e a prisão injusta e arbitrária do ex-presidente Lula.

4 – A presidenta do PT, senadora Gleisi Hoffmann (PR), demonstrou hoje seu apoio à luta dos petroleiros e aos caminhoneiros que exigem a queda no preço dos combustíveis, diante da política estritamente privatista e pró-investidores, em especial estrangeiros, imposta contra o povo brasileiro pelo atual presidente da Petrobrás, Pedro Parente. Bulletin 101 – People’s Committee in Defense of Lula and Democracy

1. The UN Ambassador for Human Rights and Racial Equality, North American actor Danny Glover, participated in the “Good Night” yell to ex-President Lula today and enchanted the activists at the #LulaLivre Democratic Vigil with his energy and disposition to support democracy in Brazil. As he said, “the world is watching what is being done in Brazil and knows that, for the great majority of the people, there is no plan B, plan C or plan X: the only plan that exists is Plan Lula.” The actor is an old friend of the ex-President. Glover was in Rio de Janeiro this week as well, where he visited the family of Marielle Franco, the city councilor who was assassinated on March 14th.

2. A few hours earlier, during the “Good Afternoon” yell to the ex-President, Congressman Henrique Fontana (PT-Rio Grande do Sul) visited the #LulaLivre Vigil. During an emotional speech to the activists, made in front of the Federal Police headquarters building in Curitiba where Lula is being held as a political prisoner, the Congressman spoke of how for over 50 days the people have not left the ex-President’s side, which is an unprecedented event in the Nation. “What is being done here is nothing less than making history. This Vigil will never be forgotten, as a courageous fight in defense of Brazilian democracy,” he said.

3. Today, the National Executive Committee of the PT announced that it will launch Lula’s pre-candidacy for the presidency on June 8th, in Contagem, Minas Gerais. All state and county PT directors, activists, social movements, artists, intellectuals, religious leaders and representatives of diverse organizations- that fought against the 2016 coup and are fighting against the unjust and arbitrary imprisonment of ex-President Lula are invited to the event.

4. Today, PT President and Senator Gleisi Hoffmann (Paraná) showed her support for the striking petroleum workers and truckers who are demanding a reduction in fuel prices and are fighting private sector foreign investor-focused policies that have been imposed against the Brazilian people by the current President of Petrobras, Pedro Parente.
