1. O presidente da Central Única dos Trabalhadores (CUT), Vagner Freitas, visitou o ex-presidente Lula na tarde desta quinta-feira (14), na Superintendência da Polícia Federal em Curitiba. Ele levou um documento com a plataforma da classe trabalhadora, constituída por 22 pontos emergenciais para o Brasil sair da crise. Após a visita, o líder sindical contou que temia encontrar o amigo triste, mas, ao contrário, se alegrou com o entusiasmo de Lula. “Eu nunca vi um candidato tão animado para ser presidente do Brasil como eu vi o ex-presidente Lula”. Freitas disse ainda que Lula pediu para ele passar para o Brasil essa esperança de um homem que é injustiçado e que quer provar sua inocência mais que nunca. “Ele acredita que o melhor ato que os brasileiros podem fazer é lutar pela democracia”. 2. Pela manhã, Vagner Freitas esteve na Vigília Lula Livre onde participou do ato de bom dia ao ex-presidente Lula e conversou com a militância. O presidente da CUT afirmou que “Lula é um preso político, juridicamente não há nada contra ele, que está preso justamente porque é a esperança dos trabalhadores brasileiros”. 3. A frase que dá nome à Praça Olga Benário, onde ocorre a Vigília Lula Livre, foi revitalizada na manhã desta quinta, após um ataque fascista realizado na noite anterior. Representantes da extrema direita ofenderam e proferiram frases preconceituosas contra integrantes da Vigília, sem respeitar o interdito proibitório que aponta que protestos contrários devem ocorrer no lado oposto ao do espaço da resistência democrática. Durante o ato, como forma de provocação e de demonstração da sua militância político-partidária, o delegado da Polícia Federal Gastão Schefer Neto escreveu “Bolsonaro 2018” na rua da Vigília. 4. Mano Brown, um dos maiores cronistas da vida na periferia, manifestou abertamente o seu apoio à vitória de Lula nas eleições à Presidência da República. O líder dos Racionais MC’s também elogiou as transformações sociais promovidas pelos governos do ex-presidente. Em entrevista publicada nesta quinta-feira, Brown se diz preocupado com a perda das conquistas que o País obteve durante os governos petistas. 1. The president of the CUT Labor Union Federation, Vagner Freitas, visited former president Lula on Thursday afternoon (June 14th), at the Federal Police Superintendency in Curitiba. He took a document with a working class platform, which set out 22 emergency points for Brazil to overcome its crisis. After the visit, Freitas said he had been afraid of finding Lula in low spirits but ended up being cheered by the former president’s enthusiasm. “I’ve never seen a candidate as keen to be president of Brazil as former President Lula is.” Freitas went on to say that Lula had asked him to pass on to Brazil the hope of a man who has been wronged and who wants to prove his innocence more than ever. “He believes that the best thing Brazilians can do is to fight for democracy.” Read more: https://pt.org.br/lula-recebe-plataforma-com-propostas-de-entidades-sindicais/

2. In the morning, Vagner Freitas visited the Free Lula Vigil, where he took part in the “good morning” yell to former President Lula and talked to activists. In Freitas’ words: “Lula is a political prisoner – legally there is nothing against him – and is in prison precisely because he is the hope of Brazilian workers.” He reiterated that no-one else would be the PT’s presidential candidate. 3. The phrase that gives it name to Olga Benário Square, where the Free Lula Vigil takes place, was given new relevance this morning after a fascist attack carried out the night before. Representatives of the far right abused and insulted members of the Vigil, ignoring the rule that counter-demonstrations should occur on the opposite side of the space of democratic resistance. As a form of provocation and demonstration of his party-political militancy, Federal Police delegate Gaston Schefer Neto wrote “Bolsonaro 2018” on the street where the Vigil takes place. 4. Mano Brown, one of the greatest chroniclers of life in the peripheries of Brazil’s cities, openly expressed his support for a Lula victory in the presidential elections. Brown, the leader of Racionais MCs, also praised the social transformations brought about by the former president’s governments. In an interview published on Thursday, Brown said he was worried that Brazil would lose the gains it had made under PT governments.
